Winter driving tips

- De-icer & ice scraper
- Flashlight & a High Visibility Jacket
- Jump Cables
- Warm Blanket and Extra Warm Clothes
- Bag of Salt or Sand & a Shovel
- Extra Food & Water
- Watch for black ice. Ice buildup on your windshield is a clue that conditions are favorable for black ice to develop. Slow down when approaching bridges, shady spots & overpasses as they freeze faster.
- Do not drive in fog if at all possible. Pull off the road until visibility is better. If you must drive, slow before entering fog. Turn on all lights. Your headlights should be on low-beams. Be prepared for emergency stops.
- Watch out for heavy rain. Beware of hydroplaning. Turn off cruise control & slow down. If you start to hydroplane, let off the accelerator slowly and steer straight until you regain control.
Adverse weather may be out of your control, but you can be organized and prepared to reduce both risks and possible accidents occurring in your fleet this winter. You can never be too careful when driving in the winter. If you need help on the road, visit fyxfleet.com/help for assistance.
